The idea of Molotov.tv is a bomb, just like its name. A single platform that will allow you to watch programs on demand and record them in the cloud to watch them later or pause them even during a live show as if you were watching DVD.

The strategy behind this project is to unite the digital with the small screen, as an attempt to retake the attention of the young audience that has now abandoned or almost abandoned the old analogue TV. The objective is to concentrate the entire television offering in a single “place”.

The minds behind this idea are those of Pierre Lescure, founder of the Canal pay TV and Telepiù, Jean-David Blanc, creator of the cinema site Allociné and Jean-Marc Denoual, manager of Tfl. The OTT platform was launched in France in July 2016 and now aims to expand across Europe. In fact, from April 1st Molotov.tv‘s services will also be available in the 28 countries of the European Union. The only prerequisite to enjoy its contents is to have a French credit card.

CEO Jean-David Blanc declared that he wanted to see beyond the limits: “This is only the first stage of our expansion abroad”. The program includes “agreements with each channel”, and the first countries to target are Italy, Germany (where some negotiations are already underway), the United Kingdom, Spain and Belgium.
