A decree establishing the National Committee for the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Guglielmo Marconi’s birth, which will plan and promote all initiatives aimed at paying tribute to the inventor, was signed Dec. 13 at the Ministry of Culture.

Making up the committee are, in addition to honorary chairwoman Maria Elettra Marconi, Guglielmo Marconi’s daughter: Chiara Sbarigia, president of Cinecittà, Guglielmo Giovanelli Marconi; Francesco Caio, president Caio Digital Partners; Gabriele Falciasecca, Alma Mater professor emeritus; Giulia Fortunato, sole director and general manager of Cms. Cultura; Angela Mariella, director Rai Institutional Relations; Antonella Polimeni, rector of Sapienza University; Federico Rigoni, Guido Trombetti, professor emeritus of Federico II. Plus: Giovanni Molari, Cinecittà’s Archivio Luce director Enrico Bufalini, poet Davide Rondoni and Gianni Pelagalli.

On April 25, the day of the 150th anniversary, the TV debut of the Rai fiction, produced by Stand by Me, about the life of the great inventor, played by actor Stefano Accorsi, is scheduled.

The fiction is produced with the support of Emilia-Romagna Film Commission and the support of Apt Servizi, Territorio Turistico Bologna-Modena and the Municipality of Sasso Marconi, and with the collaboration of the Marconi Foundation and Museum.
