The contribution to Italian GDP of Sky Italia, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, is almost 50 billion. An induced employment of over 30 thousand people and 20.5 billion in tax revenues. The Sda Bocconi, School of Management research, presented on 6 June in the presence of Maurizio Leo, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, and Andrea Dulio, Sky Italia’s CEO, highlighted the company’s contribution to the Italian economy.

“An incredible cultural impact”, Duilio remarked to Class Cnbc. And again: ‘We have changed the way TV is seen in the country with a great commitment to innovation that we will continue to have in the coming years’.

The study was carried out by Carlo Altomonte, Arianna Brioschi, Carlo Alberto Carnevale Maffè, Guia Beatrice Pirotti, and Stefano Riela, who analysed how the company has generated a total cumulative output of around EUR 125 billion over twenty years.

From high-definition to 4K, from mobile live viewing to Sky Q and the Sky Glass smart TV, the study conducted by Sda Boccini shows how Sky Italia has had a clear impact on the change around the world of audiovisual and entertainment, from an economic and financial point of view, but also from a cultural and social point of view.
