Indiana Production is set to join the ranks of European independent cinema, gathered under the aegis of the Vuelta Group, a production company headed by Jerome Levy. The latter, after its recent acquisitions of Paris-based international sales company Playtime Group, German distributor-producer SquareOne, and Scandinavian independent film company Scanbox, wants to compete with the various biggies in the industry-Leonine, Mediawan, and Asacha Media-and on the television front with Banijay and Fremantle.

To its credit Indiana Production has several films including, for example, those with Paolo Virzì such as La prima cosa bella and Il capitale umano, but also several TV series. In its last balance sheet at the end of 2022, Indiana Production’s revenues were 41.4 million, a production value of 88 million, and profits of 546mi1a euros.

Indiana Production is not the first case of a company passing under the control of international entities. We recall the passage of Lux Vide (the home of Don Matteo and Blanca) to Fremantle and of Greenland Group (among the Smetto quando voglio productions) to Banijay Group in 2022. Cattleya (Gomorra, Romanzo Criminale, Suburra among productions) was acquired by the British Itv Studios and Palomar (Il Commissario Montalbano, Braccialetti rossi) sold a majority stake to the French Mediawan.
