There Is Still Tomorrow (C’è ancora domani), Paola Cortellesi’s directorial debut, continues its international journey by securing a spot on the Academy’s preliminary list for the 2025 Oscars. Thanks to its U.S. campaign, the film is now among the 323 feature films eligible for nominations in categories such as Best Directing, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and other technical awards.

This recognition adds to an extraordinary year for the film, which became the most-watched movie in Italy in 2023, earning a record €36.8 million and drawing over 5.4 million viewers. It ran continuously for 22 weeks, topped the Italian box office for seven consecutive weeks, and became one of the top ten highest-grossing films in Italian cinema history.

Internationally, the film has also made waves: sold in 126 countries, it became the most-watched Italian film in France in the past decade and premiered in the U.S. and Canada in November 2023, distributed by Greenwich Entertainment.

The next milestone is set for January 17, when the Academy will announce the official Oscar nominees for the ceremony scheduled on March 2, 2025. Meanwhile, There Is Still Tomorrow continues to bolster the prestige of Italian cinema on the global stage.
