The ninth edition of Filming Italy – Los Angeles conceived by Tiziana Rocca, who is also its artistic director, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles, APA (Audiovisual Producers Association) and under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles, will take place from February 26-29, 2024.

“I am very happy to announce this new edition of Filming Italy – Los Angeles, which for the ninth consecutive year confirms itself as a very important event for the enhancement of our cinema abroad. And we continue to do so right inside the Film Awards Season in Los Angeles – between the Golden Globes and the Oscars – so as to give ever greater prestige and notoriety to the more than 60 works we have included in our program, including world premiere films, restored Classics, TV series, short films and Italian docu-films, many of which are still unreleased worldwide. And thanks to the platform, which for five years now has supported us in exalting the best Italian traditions, these titles will be visible in all American states. It is an honor for me to be able to award the Lifetime Achievement Award to Franco Nero, a man and actor whom I respect immensely and whom I thank, and to host Matteo Garrone, a great friend of the Festival who has followed the entire path of his brilliant career, while waiting for Oscar night. And then, of course, there will be no shortage of master classes and panels with many Italian and international guests and artists, with whom we will talk about cinema and address particularly topical and relevant issues on the trend and situation of the audiovisual market,” said Tiziana Rocca.

Among the main protagonists of this edition will be actor Franco Nero who will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Lifetime Achievement Award and to whom a marathon of his films will be dedicated. Matteo Garrone, who with his film Io Capitano is nominated for Best International Film at the Oscars 2024, will also receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Best Director Award and the Filming Italy Los Angeles Best Actor Award, respectively, along with the film’s young leading man, Seydou Sarr.
