Sorrento will host the 39th edition of Incontri Internazionali del Cinema, April 26 to 30. This year’s focus will be on Comedy. The event, directed by Remigio Truocchio, will be opened by Vincenzo Salemme.

The program is very rich: on 27 the conference “Comedy is still alive! The key elements to success“, organised by Vito Sinopoli, on the state of the art of Italian comedy. Among the speakers there will be director Fausto Brizzi, Giampaolo Letta (Managing Director of Medusa Film), Luigi Lonigro (01 Distribution), Federica Lucisano (Italian International Film) and Nicola Maccanico (Vision Distribution).

On 28, in the section Set Cmapania, the web series Casa Surace will be examined, an internet format which has become a great hit. Actors Simone Petrella, Daniele Pugliese and Bruno Galasso will attend the event.

In the section “Comedy Talk“, conceived and conducted by Piera Detassis with the collaboration of Fabia Bettini and Viviana Gandini, five meetings will be held on comedy: the first one will be: “Italiani copioni? Storia dell’uso e consumo del remake”, with the presence of Colorado with Film Baby Sitter, IIF with Notte prima degli Esami and Poveri ma Ricchi and Medusa with Mamma o Papà?. The title for the second Talk is “Questa pazza pazza Napoli”, with Luciano Stella and Carolina Terzi for Mad Entertainment. Also the director and the cast of La Parrucchiera will attend the meeting (Stefano Incerti, Massimiliano Gallo, Pina Turco, Cristina Donadio, Tony Tammaro) and of Gatta Cenerentola (Alessandro Rak, Ivan Cappiello, Marino Guarnieri, Dario Sansone). The other Talks will be “Commedia, l’evoluzione della specie”, with Alessandro Aronadio and his film Orecchie, and Vincenzo Alfieri, director and actor of I Peggiori. “Forum Cattleya Lab” will follow, with Alessandro Siani and Riccardo Tozzi (CEO of Cattleya). Finally, “Le storie siamo noi: serata d’onore per Ivan Cotroneo”, whose director and author will be accompanied by Maria Pia Calzone, Ornella Muti, Alessandro Roja, Massimiliano Gallo and photography director Luca Bigazzi.
