Today, at the press conference for MIA 2019, the Rai Fiction Director Eleonora Andreatta introduced the upcoming titles by Rai for the next year.

Amongst the announced titles were: “La Storia”, an adapted series of the masterpiece by Elsa Morante, set in WWII Rome, and “The Count of Montecristo”, which will bring to life the famous novel by Alexandre Dumas.

Andreatta said: “To Rai, fiction represents a sector of excellence that has the ability to show our country and its imagination. The challenge that characterizes our work is to raise the bar in terms of the projects’ quality, drawing on our rich cultural, literary and historical heritage to meet standards of excellence. From this very vocation for public service sprout the new seeds”.

The Rai Fiction Director invited Nathalie Biancolli (France Television) and Simone Emmelius (ZDF), demonstrating how the collaborative work with France and Germany has grown in recent years.

The collaboration between the three main public European broadcasters RAI (Italy), France TV, and ZDF (Germany) share the main objective of co-producing and developing innovative TV series based on shared culture and values that can compete at the international level.
