The 39th edition of the Franco Solinas International Award for Best Screenplay and the 18th edition of the Solinas Documentary Award for Cinema, organized in collaboration with Apollo 11 – The Documentary House, have concluded.

“Latte” by Alessandro Padovani and Lorenzo Bagnatori won the Franco Solinas International Award for Best Screenplay, receiving a prize of €8,000. The jury described the screenplay as a story “written with skill and passion,” tackling universal themes through an intense and captivating narrative.

The Claudia Sbarigia Scholarship, awarded for excellence in portraying the female universe, went to “Povero Cuore” by Chiara Aversa, Sofia Corbascio, and Federico Amenta. The jury highlighted how the protagonist Brenda conveys a message of hope and resilience: “She teaches us to believe in fairy tales even in the face of the harshest realities.”

A special mention was awarded to “Il Sommo” by Davide Petrosino and Pietro Jellinek, praised for its charismatic protagonist and a finale described as “visionary and bold, overturning everything and leaving a lasting impression.”

Annamaria Granatello, President and Director of the Solinas Prize, emphasized the importance of initiatives like this: “We have created the conditions to foster the emergence of new authors, aiming to rejuvenate cinema and audiovisuals with fresh creative energies and new perspectives.”

The event reaffirms the Solinas Prize as an essential platform for promoting and nurturing talent in screenwriting for cinema and audiovisual storytelling.
