“This singular user experience streamlines sign-up and enhances discovery, and this lower price will allow more households to enjoy this exceptional combined entertainment offering.” With these worlds, Tom Ryan, president and CEO of Paramount Global Streaming, announces the bundle between Paramount+ and Showtime.

The two streaming giants, Paramount+ and Showtime, have merged into a single application. However, the option for users to remain subscribed to a single channel remains unchanged.

Here’s how the subscription prices will change: new subscribers will be able to enjoy the service for $12.99 per month, for the commercial-free service, while the cheaper version will charge $7.99 per month, with the addition of commercial breaks. After this initial discounted period, subscribers will have to pay $14.99 without advertising and $11.99 with advertising.

Showtime’s viewers will be able to continue their subscription on the platform for $10.99 per month; instead, Paramount+’s subscribers will pay $9.99 per month for the uninterrupted version and $4.99 with commercials.

Paramount Global said Paramount+ added 4.9 million subscribers in the second quarter ended the 30 of June, reaching 43.3 million overall, the majority of the company’s nearly 64 million total subscribers. The company plans to have Paramount+ in 60 global territories by the end of the year. Outside the US, some Showtime programmes have already been streamed on Paramount+.

Paramount Global’s aim was to make signing up and finding tv shows smoother.
