Netflix and SIAE have announced the renewal of agreements regulating the use of music and the management of audiovisual rights for content available on the streaming platform. This understanding covers SIAE’s Music and Audiovisual repertoires, ensuring fair compensation for authors and publishers involved in the creation of these works. It represents an important step in strengthening the relationship between two key players in the Italian creative industry.
According to a joint statement, the new contracts include the use of musical compositions in films, TV series, and television programs within Netflix’s Italian catalog, while also guaranteeing equitable compensation for the authors of audiovisual works. This collaboration acknowledges the value of Italian creativity and the rights of industry professionals.
Tinny Andreatta, Vice President of Italian Content at Netflix, emphasized the significance of the agreement, highlighting the company’s commitment to fairly remunerate rights holders:
“We are very pleased to have renewed the agreements with SIAE, reaffirming how fundamentally important it is for Netflix to provide fair and proportionate compensation to rights holders. We achieved this result through a dialectical and constructive dialogue with our SIAE partners, with whom we share the belief in the importance of enhancing Italian talent and creativity.”
