MIA Market announces a new agreement with DocsBarcelona. The deal aims to establish a connection between Italian and Spanish documentary industry.

MIA Market and DocsBarcelona have kickstarted their collaboration during MIA 2019, last October, and signed a collaboration agreement in order to strengthen the connection between professionals from both countries as well as fostering the circulation of their respective works. The exchange agreement consists on the recommendation of six Spanish films for MIA Doc Division programming and six Italian production films for DocsBarcelona programming. In addition, the projects coming from both countries will have advantages when registering into the industry activities of both markets, and the teams of both festivals will be in constant contact to establish connections and doing promotional actions in their respective events.

DocsBarcelona is the main meeting point and market place in Spain for the international documentary industry, with 450 accredited professionals from 35 countries every year and 1.800 visitors to the industry activities. A professional program that runs in parallel to a competitive festival with 22.200 viewers. DocsBarcelona is supported by ICEC (Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises), Barcelona City Council, Europa Media, Provincial Government of Barcelona, ICAA (Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts in Spain) and CCCB.
