Mfe-MediaForEurope, the group that controls Mediaset, Mediaset España and is the largest shareholder in the German broadcaster ProsiebenSat, yesterday presented its results for the first half of 2023, with net income up to 87 million and revenues stable.

A note released by the holding company attributes this success to the “increasingly international dimension,” achieved following the merger with the Spanish entity and which “cushions possible imbalances in the different markets,” the results “have shown a decidedly positive trend despite critical elements such as inflationary pressure, energy costs, and the reduction of dividends.”

Also stable was advertising sales of 1.34 billion, which were affected by what Matteo Cardani, general manager Marketing & Operations at Publitalia, calls “unpredictable factors” encountered both in Italy, where the death of founder Silvio Berlusconi had an impact, and in Spain, where there were early general elections in July.
