Within the framework of the LuceLab Cinecittà project, a memorandum of understanding has been signed between Lucana Film Commission and Cinecittà S.p.a aimed at establishing selection calls for new training courses. In this case, they are true “professional workshops”, which will take place in Basilicata and will be free for participants. The first course to start will be “Tailoring and Costume Cutting”, aimed at Lucanian artisans who will learn the art of cutting and sewing applied to the film industry, television, and entertainment in general.

Cinecittà’s President, Chiara Sbarigia, emphasized: “The training project developed in collaboration with Lucana Film Commission is, for Cinecittà, the first example of training distributed throughout the Italian territory, unlike what has been done in Rome until now. This important objective was decided – in agreement with the MIC – to distribute the effects of Cinecittà’s training program throughout the country, creating forms of virtuous collaboration with regional territories, for a broad sharing of the know-how and experience of Cinecittà’s workforce. The ability of Lucana Film Commission, to which I express my gratitude, to identify financial and human resources, and the facilities to carry out training courses, has been fundamental. A model that we will effectively replicate in several other Italian regions.”

“We wanted to focus on the training of figures who, in the artistic and artisanal field, can represent a true human capital for productions that choose our territory in Basilicata,” said Margherita Romaniello, President of the Lucana Film Commission.

The first course, starting at the end of May 2024, will take place in Potenza, at the IPSIA G. Giorgi Institute, located at Via Pola, 3. Click here to apply for the call by the deadline of 06/05/2024 at 12:00 PM.
