Disney+ is officially launching a crackdown on password sharing, offering a paid ‘extra member’ option.
In fact, this week, Disney+ started informing its users about the new paid sharing modes available, offering the possibility of adding members from outside the household who may have previously used the accounts in a way that did not comply with the rules. The new subscriptions are now available in the US, Canada, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

At the same time, Disney+ announced a price increase. The Basic plan with advertising will increase from $7.99 to $9.99 per month, while the Premium plan without advertising will increase from $13.99 to $15.99 per month. The prices of Hulu, ESPN+ and the combined packages will also increase.
As for the paid sharing programme in the US, the cost to add an ‘extra member’ will be $6.99 per month for Basic plan subscribers and $9.99 per month for Premium plan subscribers.

Only one additional member per main account will be allowed and this option is not available to subscribers using Disney packages or subscribers billed through third-party partners. Travelling Disney+ subscribers will still be able to access the service. If the message ‘This TV does not appear to be part of this account’s household’ appears during the move, users will be able to report that they are away from home or update the household location in the case of a permanent move. Access will be granted in this case via a code sent to the email address associated with the account.
