Autumn programme schedules in hand, from September Discovery will be able to count on the presence of Amadeus alongside Fabio Fazio and Maurizio Crozza on Nine. Their presence is proof that Warner Bros Discovery in Italy wants to create a true generalist offer with all the consequences of the case for one of the main sectors of the national economy.
Leading the conquest of the rich advertising market is Alessandro Araimo, Managing Director of Warner Bros Discovery in Italy and General Manager for Southern Europe.
The results for the 2023 financial year of Discovery Italia srl, i.e. the group’s only Italian free-to-air television activities, the TV channels Nove, Real time, Dmax, etc., are not affected by the Fabio Fazio effect because the programme Che tempo che fa on Nove only impacts the last two and a half months of the 2023 budget.
The net result is 25.4 million, while revenues rise to 245.9 million. In the composition of Discovery Italia’s revenues, in addition to advertising sales, which came to 223.6 million in 2023, there are intercompany operations: services dropped to 15.3 million (21.8 million), TV revenues instead rose to 4.1 million (1.8 million) and other revenues to 2.7 million (1.9 million).
