On Thursday 12 September, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Lucana Film Commission (Lfc) and Bcc Basilicata, sanctioning a tried-and-tested collaboration between the institution and the Lucanian bank to support activities related to the audiovisual sector in Basilicata.

In this regard, the President of Lfc, Margherita Gina Romaniello states that the aim of the agreement is to attract and support productions that choose to set their projects in Basilicata.

Giorgio Costantino, General Manager of Bcc Basilicata, further emphasises the importance of this agreement: “Our bank continues to believe in the potential of the audiovisual sector as a vehicle for enhancing Lucanian territory and culture. Through this protocol, we not only offer innovative and flexible financial instruments, but we also continue our commitment with the Ethical Fund, intended to further support initiatives that have a positive impact on the social and creative fabric of Basilicata”.

Costantino further specifies that audiovisual projects deemed worthy of LFC’s contributions will also be able to apply for an assessment by the Bcc, which will allow access to the available financial instruments, including the possibility of advancing the contribution already granted: “We are committed to assessing and advancing up to 80% of the contributions granted for productions deemed worthy by the Lucana Film Commission in the Lucania region, also combining the support of the Ethical Fund. A modality structured together with LFC and which gives film companies the possibility of having an initial booster to start the production of their films with confidence. Certainly, a way that has already proved effective for networking and being a glue in a sector with a strong impact on the economic development of Basilicata’.

The collaboration between the two entities will also be able to materialise in the joint planning and realisation of events, publications and symposia in line with the activities of the Lfc.
