Warner Bros. is making changes to next year’s schedule, and the release of the films Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Shazam! Fury of the Gods will slip a few months. The sequel of the film starring Jason Momoa and directed by James Wan will be released on December 25, 2023 instead of March 17, 2023.

Instead of Aquaman, it will be Shazam! Fury of the Gods, directed by David F. Sandberg, to be released in theaters on March 17 next year. The second installment of Shazam will also have access to Imax screens.

Through this schedule change, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released in theaters a few days after Disney’s Star Wars spin-off Rogue Squadron on Dec. 23, 2023. Shazam 2, on the other hand, will avoid confrontation with another box office colossal, Avatar: The Waterway, which will arrive in theaters on Dec. 14, 2023.

Other movie dates to keep in mind include Michael Chaves’ The Nun 2 on September 8, 2023; the first film had grossed $53.8 million in 2018 becoming the best domestic debut for The Conjuring franchise.

Another major change in the Warner Bros. landscape will be that Evil Dead Rise and the LeBron James-produced remake, House Party, which were to be released directly on HBO Max, will be scheduled to hit theaters starting Dec. 9, 2022.

In addition, Warner has a Super Bowl weekend event film, the title of which is not yet known, scheduled for release on February 10, 2023.
