The second session of the Piemonte Doc Film Fund, with an endowment of €240,000, opened yesterday, 24 October 2024.
The fund is dedicated to documentaries with a duration of no less than 50 minutes. Both Piedmontese and national, European and non-European production companies can apply for funding, but for the latter there is a further constraint: the documentary must deal with themes or stories inherent to the territory of Piedmont.
Applicants must also own at least 50% of the rights to the project submitted, which drops to 30% in the event that the request is submitted by international co-productions. The award of the grant commits the beneficiary to an investment in the territory equal to 120% of the amount received.
The fund aims to support the development and production of the selected projects. Allocation and payment of the grant are entrusted to the Film Commission Torino Piemonte, with a minimum value of €5,000 and a maximum of €20,000 for development and €60,000 for production. Funding is non-repayable and will be disbursed in two instalments, a first of 70% at the beginning of the work and 30% on completion.
