Venice Immersive is back, the section of the Venice Biennale, established in 2017, entirely dedicated to immersive arts and media, which includes all means of XR – Extended Reality creative expression: 360° videos and XR works of any duration, including installations, also sensory, and virtual worlds.

From 28 August to 7 September 2024, 63 selected projects from 25 countries will be presented. There will be 26 projects in Competition, with a selection of 19 world premieres and 7 international premieres. 30 Out of Competition projects, i.e. the best works already distributed or presented at other events, including 10 Best of Experiences projects and 20 Best of Worlds projects, i.e. created by independent artists from all over the world on the VRChat platform, an ecosystem of virtual worlds presented through immersive guided tours.
The section will also be completed by 7 projects developed during the course of the Biennale College Cinema – Immersive: 1 project realised thanks to the 8th edition grant, and 6 projects developed within the international workshop of previous editions.
