Two new DGCA calls for proposals are now open, dedicated to the granting of contributions for activities and initiatives promoting cinema and audiovisuals for the year 2024, and to the recognition of the status of art-house cinema and the granting of contributions for the programming of art-house films for the year 2023.

Regarding the first call related to promotion, the allocated budget is 11.45 million euros aimed at supporting projects in Italy and abroad for the development of cinematic and audiovisual culture, festivals, reviews, and cinematic and audiovisual awards, as well as activities involving the acquisition, conservation, cataloging, restoration, study, research, use, and enhancement of cinematic and audiovisual heritage carried out by film archives.

The initiatives for which the contribution is requested must be carried out between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024. Applications for contributions must be submitted through the DGCOL platform from July 1 to July 28, 2024.

The budget for the second call, related to the recognition of the status of art-house cinema and the granting of contributions for the programming of art-house films, is 7 million euros. This is aimed at cinema operating companies for one or more theaters and requests for the art-house cinema status, referring to the activities carried out during 2023.

To apply for the contribution, theaters must have conducted a minimum of 80 screenings per year, reduced to 40 for open-air theaters, through the DGCOL platform between July 1 and July 22, 2024.
