The TV advertising revenue in the first five months of 2017 has recognised especially the results of the Discovery group and Sky channels. The former increased by 7% with respect to the previous year, while Rupert Murdoch’s giant represented a smaller increase of 1,2%. The two groups together are close to 20% of the advertising market, but the Italian advertising TV concludes this time of the year with an overall drop of 0,2%, thus confirming the trend of 2016. Mediaset, in fact, drops back 0,5% with a total collection of 967,4 million Euros and Rai advertising (without TV licence fee) loses 1,5% with a collection of 377 million Euros. The last one is La7 with its minus 2,6% with respect to 2016, although it stands at average ratings of 3,5% in the most desired block, the prime time.
