An agreement has been signed between Sony Pictures Television and City Football Group for the creation of new original non-fiction scripts for children’s television. A union that will bring together creative productions and sports, including football-related projects.

Ferran Soriano, managing director of City Football Group said: ‘We are excited to partner with Sony Pictures Television in this joint initiative. City Football Group is already a global entertainment company and this initiative builds on our long tradition of innovation in the content space and the growth of City Studios in recent years. We will now take an even more dynamic approach to content production, and are already developing several scripted and non-fiction series that will delight audiences globally.’

Leading the projects will be producer Ged Doherty, while Wayne Garvie, president of international production at Sony Pictures Television defined how the company’s goal is ‘to be part of the next evolution of the game, creating a new generation of innovative football-based entertainment to excite the world’.
