Xavier Henry-Rashid began as a photographer and freelance journalist, contributing to publications like Variety, Screen and GQ, and writing for the original Yahoo Movies and BBC Films websites. He has held various festival roles, including as Executive Director of the Raindance Film Festival, as a previewer for Sheffield Doc Fest, and in sponsorship for AEG/Sundance London and the East End Film Festival. Since 2012, he has run Film Republic, a London-based world sales company. Their Foreign Language Oscar entries include Concrete Night (Pirjo Honkasalo), El Limpiador (Adrian Saba), 8 Views of Lake Biwa (Marko Raat), and many more. Xavier is also a Berlin Talent Campus and Screen Institute alumnus and a member of EAVE and EFA. He is a mentor for the Screen Institute and the Baltic Women in Film mentorship.
