Roberto Butragueño is CEO at Sideral Cinema (Madrid), where he leads the studio’s activities across production, theatrical distribution, and international sales. In 2026, he also co-founded Impulse Studio, Spain’s first fully integrated independent studio, structured as a public-private partnership under the “Spain, Audiovisual Hub of Europe” plan, where he serves as Managing Partner.
On the distribution side, Sideral has released more than 60 films in Spanish cinemas, with recent and upcoming titles including Día de Caza (dir. Pedro Aguilera, starring Rossy de Palma, Carmen Machi and Blanca Portillo), Andy (dir. Román Parrado) and Lionel (dir. Carlos Saiz).
As a producer of more than 20 feature films, his credits include La Cena (dir. Manuel Gómez Pereira) — two 2026 Goya Awards from eight nominations, including Best Picture, plus wins at the Feroz, Fotogramas de Plata, Alma and Platino awards, and a Spanish box-office hit with over €3.7 million and half a million admissions — and Segundo Premio (dir. Isaki Lacuesta & Pol Rodríguez), Spain’s official selection for the 2025 Academy Awards and Biznaga de Oro winner at the 2024 Málaga Festival. Earlier credits include the double Goya winners El año del descubrimiento (2020) and La Herida (2013).

He holds a Law degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Master’s in Tax Advisory from ICADE, and a diploma in Film Production from ECAM.
