Emir Külal Haznevi is a Syrian-Turkish producer and director based in Istanbul and the founder of Saudade Film. Since 2015, he has produced more than 280 documentary and factual television productions alongside internationally acclaimed feature films.
His recent co-productions include Green Border by Agnieszka Holland (Special Jury Prize, Venice 2023), Franz by Agnieszka Holland (premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and the San Sebastián International Film Festival), It All Ends Here by Rajko Grlić, Parallel Tales by Asghar Farhadi (Official Competition, Cannes 2026), and All of a Sudden by Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Official Competition, Cannes 2026), for which Virginie Efira and Tao Okamoto shared the Best Actress Award.
As a writer-director, his short film High Altitude or The Awkwardness of the Things premiered at international festivals, and he is currently developing his debut feature, The Sun, The Moon and The Eleven Stars. Emir is a member and former Deputy Treasurer of the European Film Academy.
