Colm O’Callaghan is the Group Head of Specialist Factual Content at Raidió Teilifís Éireann [RTÉ], Ireland’s Public Service broadcaster. He heads a group that commissions for linear and online in the areas of History, Natural History, Wildlife, Diversity, Sport, Music, Arts, Culture, Religion and Society. He has executive editorial responsibility for 150 hours of content every year.

Colm is a member of RTÉ’s Editorial Standards and sits on the Specialist Factual group at the European Broadcasting Union. He is a member of the Governing Body at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology [IADT] in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin and is a member of the Board’s Audit and Risk Committee. Colm documents social history on a music and culture blog, run with Martin O’Connor called The Blackpool Sentinel. He has a first-class Master’s degree in modern Irish history, specialising in Irish Entertainment history and the development of popular culture in independent Ireland.
