In 2003, Bettina Brokemper founded her Cologne-based film production company, Heimatfilm. Internationally recognised for her strong focus on ambitious co-productions, she has produced more than 50 award-winning feature films.

Her credits include Dogville (Lars von Trier), The Syrian Bride (Eran Riklis), Bal (Semih Kaplanoglu), Hannah Arendt (Margarethe von Trotta), and The Devil’s Bath (Veronika Franz & Severin Fiala), as well as La mort viendra (Christoph Hochhäusler). Most recently, her (co-)productions The Education of Jane Cumming (Sophie Heldman) and The Blood Countess (Ulrike Ottinger) premiered at the 2026 Berlinale. She is also co-producer of the film All of a Sudden, by Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, which celebrated its world premiere in the competition at the Festival de Cannes 2026.

In addition to producing, she lectures at film schools and serves on juries at major international festivals. Her work has earned numerous honours, including “Producer on the Move” (2006) and inclusion in The Hollywood Reporter’s list of the 40 Most Powerful Women in International Film, three years in a row (2023-2025).
