The Sicilia Film Commission finances 34 productions, available the ranking of the supported works among feature films, documentaries, TV series and short films.

“It’s a commitment that we support with conviction – says Sandro Pappalardo (Councillor for the
Tourism, Sport and Entertainmentof the Region)  – cinema is not only an instrument of extraordinary expressive creativity, but above it’s an exceptional opportunity to promote the Sicilian territory, through the knowledge of historical, artistic and cultural contexts, as well as a remarkable opportunity for the development of Sicilian professionals working in the audiovisual sector”. The 1.5 million euro grant was made available by the Sicily Region, as part of the Sensi Contemporanei Cinema programme.

There were 70 works that participated in the call, “among these – explains Alessandro Rais,
Managing director of the Sicilia Film Commission – a total of 34 productions have been selected for co-financing, of which 20 feature films, 9 documentaries, 5 short films, for a total amount of co-financing of € 1,525,000.00 which, as actually verified in previous years, is able to generate a direct expenditure on Sicilian territory equal to five times (with an estimated multiplier of 1×5.33) “.

  • A 25 anni dalle stragi di mafia by Franco Maresco, produced by Ila Palma.
  • L’isola delle meraviglie (Inno alla pace) by Pasquale Scimeca.
  • Momenti di trascurabile felicità e infelicità by Daniele Luchetti, starring Pif and Renato
    Carpentieri.
  • Tutto il giorno davanti by Luciano Manuzzi, produced by Bibi Film, starring Isabella Ragonese, will be broadcast on Rai Uno.
  • Lacrime di sale by Maurizio Zaccaro, starring Sergio Castellitto.
  • The Winter’s Tale by Sacha Bennett, produced by Three Wise Monkeys Productions.
  • Il casellante by Rocco Mortelliti, produced by Settima Entertainment.
  • Il Commissario Montalbano (Inspector Montalbano).
  • Il cacciatore, starring Francesco Montanari.
  • Katharmoi by Leandro Picarella, produced by Qoomoon srl.
  • Goffredo felicissimo by Franco Maresco, produced by the  Associazione Lumpen.
  • Cuntami Sicilia by Giovanna Taviani, produced by Nuvola Film.
  • La bellezza imperfetta by Davide Vigore.
  • Epicentro by Leandro Picarella, produced by Playmaker.
