The weekly column Si Gira l’Italia, launched by the DGCA, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Museums of MiC and Italy for Movies, is born.

A real film tour to discover the most famous locations that have framed the scenes of memorable films from the small and big screen. The event will kick off on Thursday, March 14, and will become a fixture for 21 weeks, in which it will move across the Peninsula. Starting in Lazio, with a visit to Villa Lante whose gardens brought to life the exteriors of the Vatican in Paolo Sorrentino’s The Young Pope.

The initiative aims at the enhancement of museums, villas, archaeological areas as ideal places in which to shoot their own film, documentary or TV series and, at the same time, wants to be a new way to experience and learn about cinema and its “places”.
