Prime Video orients its new Italian productions and acquisitions on comedy and “roots itself even more in the Italian segment,” stresses Marco Azzani, Country Managing Director of the streaming giant.

Among the protagonists of this good-humored turn we find Christian De Sica, who in Gigolò per caso, directed by Eros Puglielli, tells the story of “an old gigolo,” explains the actor, “who has a heart attack and has to convince his son to continue the profession, so as not to lose clients,” and the couple Chiara Martegiani and Valerio Mastandrea, also companions in life, directed by Chiara Malta in the series Antonia, which deals with “irony” on the delicate subject of endometriosis, or chronic inflammation of the female genitals. Yet another title among the new releases is On the Most Beautiful – The Series. The teen saga will continue as a TV series and will land on Prime Video in 2024.

Still smiling is No activity: nothing to report, a drama with three couples (two criminals, Rocco Papaleo and Fabio Balsamo; two cops, Luca Zingaretti and Alessandro Tiberi; and two dispatch operators, Emanuela Fanelli and Carla Signoris) all waiting for a load of drugs that does not arrive.

In addition to the news, the second seasons of Sono Lillo 2 with, indeed, Lillo and Monterossi with Fabrizio Bentivoglio are also reconfirmed. On the entertainment side, there are shows such as Karaoke Night – Talents Without Shame with Dargen D’Amico and Amazing – Fabio De Luigi, a one-off episode in which the actor is about to receive a lifetime achievement award, which is a gimmick for a comic journey among a series of pranks by friends such as Virginia Raffaele, Adriano Pappalardo, Marco Mengoni and Gialappa’s.

Film titles in the new catalog also include films such as Elf Me with Lillo Petrolo and Anna Foglietta, which will be released at Christmas, The Best of All Worlds with Maccio Capatonda, and Pensati Sexy, a female comedy featuring the debut of porn star Valentina Nappi.

Finally, the announced Prime Original TV series, directed by Gianluca Maria Tavarelli and starring Kim Rossi Stuart, inspired by the 2003 “Antwerp heist,” the biggest diamond heist. Everybody Loves Diamonds will be available on the platform from October 13.
