The Golden Globes were held on January 7, 2024. The awards ceremony for the season’s films and TV series this year, after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association disbanded in 2023, was organized by the new Golden Globe Foundation.

The Golden Globes, which lead the way for the Oscars, this year saw Christopher Nolan’s signature colossal, Oppenheimer, triumph, winning five statuettes: best drama, best director for Nolan and to actors Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr.

No awards for Matteo Garrone’s I, Captain, while Poor Creatures took home the statuette for best comedy film and best actress for Emma Stone. Hayao Miyazaki’s latest masterpiece, The Boy and the Heron, won for best animated film, while in terms of TV series, on the other hand, the most awarded were Succession and The Bear.
