Less than a month to the deadline for the Italy-Tunisia Co-development Call for Proposals with an annual budget of € 280,000 approx.

The deadline for submitting applications for access to the Italy-Tunisia co-development call will expire on 17 May. This has been announced by the Direzione Generale Cinema e Audiovisivo of the Ministry of Culture in a notice on its website. The call refers to the bilateral fund for the development of co-produced films between the two countries and has a total budget of 280,000 euros, made available by the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual and the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image in Tunis.

The Fund is aimed at cinematographic works that, regardless of their genre (fiction, animation and documentary), are intended for first release in cinemas and have a duration of over 52 minutes.

The contribution allocated to each winning project may be a maximum of 30 000 euros for projects with an Italian majority and a maximum of 50 000 Tunisian dinars for projects with a Tunisian majority.

In order to benefit from the aid, cinematographic works must be produced by at least one producer with a registered office in Italy and at least one producer with a registered office in Tunisia. The bilateral fund for the development of co-produced cinematographic works between Italy and Tunisia stems from the agreement, signed on 11 May 2018, between the Director General of Cinema of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (Rome) and the Director General of Cinema of Le Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image (CNCI) in Tunis, which established the creation of a bilateral development support fund, intended to encourage Italian-Tunisian artistic co-productions of full-length cinematographic works.
