In the third quarter Netflix slowed its growth compared to the first two, marked by the extraordinary situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the first quarters of 2020 Netflix recorded an increase of 28.1 mln subscribers, an average of 3 new mln per month, which is however now strongly slowed down by the relaxation of security measures: in the last quarter the new subscribers are 2.2 mln.

The streaming platform now has over 195 million subscribers, 23% more than the same month in 2019, and expects to reach over 201 million by the end of the year.

The future remains tied to the state of the pandemic and its impact: Netflix expects annual growth to return to pre-Covid levels.
