In the second quarter of 2020, Netflix’s revenues have reached 6.14 billion dollars.

In addition, 10.1 million paying subscriptions were added, compared to 2.7 million in the second quarter of 2019. Paying subscribers are now 192.95 millions, with a forecast of 195.45 millions in the following quarter.

The growth rate is 24.9% year by year, with operating income exceeding one billion dollars.

Due to the pause in production due to Covid-19 pandemic and an unusual subscription boom, the streaming giant expects a natural slowdown in growth: in the third quarter an increase of 2.5 million subscribers is expected compared to 6.8 million in the third quarter 2019, with 6.33 billion in revenues.

In its earnings report, Netflix released the numbers of the most successful shows: Mindy Kaling’s teen series Never Have I Ever saw 40 million families watch the show in its first four weeks of service; Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods has been viewed by 27 million families.
