Now in its second edition, MIA has a new section, MIA TV, that extends to television industry. The programme of MIA TV is now available online.

One-to-one meetings, debates, round tables and presentations of selected projects for the Pitching Forum Drama: here’s the intense programme of MIA TV that, in October, will take place at the Terme di Diocleziano, the Boscolo Exedra Hotel and the Planetarium. The event will focus on the world of Italian and international television production going through various issues such as new techniques for casting and market strategies, from professionalism “behind the scenes”, sets and costumes to scenic design and visual effects.

MIA TV will start on October 20th with a meeting on the new way of casting in the era of global television. A selection of worldwide renown actors and actresses will attend the event. It will be also an occasion to create “windows” for up-ad-coming artists which are new to Hollywood and the American market.

On October 21st, “The Italian Journey” is on! An Italian “day trip” through financial resources, set and prospects for the national and international programming and production. Speakers will include representatives of institutions, while representatives of the Italian Film Commission will show some of the most beautiful locations of our country exploring natural landscapes and art cities, urban landscapes and villages, from north to south taking into account various “cinematographic genres”. Then, the debate will focus on visual effects, with particular emphasis on Italian companies which have had a large international visibility thanks to successful film and television productions.
To complete the journey through the talent and Italian creativity there will be, then, meetings with soundtrack authors, Make Up Artists, set designers and many other creative professionals of modern Italian workforce.

Moreover, on October 22nd, pitching and international co-productions will take centre stage. A series of projects presented by Italian companies looking for international partners will be disclosed to an audience of producers and broadcasters. The debate will focus on the expectations and real possibilities of collaborations in the Italian market. The issue will be further explained with a comparison between an US budget and the hypothesis of the same budget for an Italian project and a detailed study on Tax Credit.

Networking and one-on-one meetings will continue also on 23 and 24 October with insights about best practices – related also to the European public service scene – to be followed to turn local productions into international successes.
