MIA – Mercato Internazionale dell’Audiovisivo will host a conference on 20 October at 10:00 AM at Palazzo Barberini, entitled Italy-France: A New Dialogue on European Audiovisual Policy – Establishment of an Expert Group on European Policies on Cinema and Audiovisual Following the Cooperation Programme between Italy and France, dedicated to cooperation between Italy and France on European audiovisual policy.

The meeting will feature contributions from Director General for Cinema and Audiovisual, Giorgio Carlo Brugnoni, and CNC President, Gaëtan Bruel.

Brugnoni, who spoke at the MIA presentation press conference held at Palazzo Barberini on 30 September, emphasised the importance of this cooperation, highlighting how Italy and France will make their best resources and expertise available to develop increasingly competitive and sustainable strategies.

The initiative falls within the framework of the Cooperation Programme for the cinema and audiovisual sectors, signed on 25 June 2026 in Antibes by the Italian and French Ministers of Culture, Alessandro Giuli and Catherine Pégard, respectively.

The programme provides for the establishment of an expert group, which will meet for the first time at the MIA conference.

The meeting represents an opportunity for dialogue and the sharing of perspectives on common challenges related to the evolution of European legislation, support measures, and the prospects for film and audiovisual production.

Now in its twelfth edition, the MIA will further strengthen this initiative by fostering connections between producers and industry professionals from Italy and around the world.
