Luciano Ligabue goes back to being a director after 15 years with Made in Italy, a film based on his latest concept album. Filming has just begun. Made in Italy is produced by Fandango’s Domenico Procacci (who owns the rights for international sale); it is distributed by Medusa Film and it stars Stefano Accorsi, who have worked with Ligabue for the singer’s debut film, Radiofreccia. Accorsi’s co-star is Kasia Smutniak.

The film tells of Riko, an ordinary man who depends on his work to support his family. When he loses the few certainties which made him carry on, he realizes that he must take control of his present and start over somehow again.

Shooting will last seven weeks and will take place in Correggio, Reggio Emilia, Novellara, Rome and Frankfurt. The other cast members are Fausto Sciarappa, Walter Leonardi, Filippo Dini e Tobia De Angelis.
