Vice Film Division, Vice Media’s production arm, creates a new section dedicated to documentaries, Vice Documentary Films, headed by Jason Mojica, former Editor-in-Chief at Vice News, and Brendan Fitzgerald, Head of TV Development for the Viceland cable network.

Jason Mojica, who will be one of the Decision Makers at MIA|DOC, stated: “You hear a lot of people saying that there’s never been a better time for documentaries, and it turns out that’s true. Audiences are more interested than ever in nonfiction storytelling and there are more and more platforms serving it up”.

Among the documentaries in the works, there’s Shot! The Psycho-Spiritual Mantra of Rock, about photographer Mick Rock and his work with music stars, and Shelter, which tells a year in the life of a homeless youth in New Orleans.
