The Undersecretary of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, Lucia Borgonzoni, and the Head of International Relations of ANICA, Roberto Stabile, were in Tokyo to direct a co-production agreement between Italy and Japan.

The agreement’s aim is to encourage the creation of audiovisual co-productions between Italian and Japanese producers through the recognition of the same as national works, in compliance with their respective legislations. For the occasion, Lucia Borgonzoni and Roberto Stabile met the mayor of Toshima, Yukio Takano, who illustrated the construction project of two new complexes that will house 22 cinemas. The new spaces, which could be inaugurated already in 2020, will host cultural events such as the Tokyo International Film Festival, but also initiatives related to other countries such as Italy.
