The Independent Spirit Awards announced its film nominees for the 2023 edition, which will take place on the 4th of March in Santa Monica, when winners are chosen by members of Film Independent.
Television nominees will be announced in a few weeks, on the 13th of December.
The Independent Spirit Awards, created to honor independent voices working outside the major studio system, today, in its 38th edition, has received a whopping 409 submissions.
The nominees, chosen by Spirit Awards Film Nominating Committees, were announced on Tuesday morning by last year’s best actress winner, Taylour Paige, and former candidate, Raúl Castillo.
The leading studio, for total nominations received, is A24 studio, which received twenty-four nominations, of which eight for its movie Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Right under the aforementioned movie the two leading nominees are Todd Field’s Tár with seven and Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun with five.
Notably, Guadagnino‘s Bones and All also got a nomination for Best Feature.
