Petr Václav’s Il Boemo, presented at the MIA Co-pro Market 2015, won six awards at the 30th Czech Lion Awards.

The film recounts the life of Josef Mysliveček, a Czech-born composer who was the author of some of Europe’s most famous opere serie in the 18th century.

The Czech Lion Awards are presented annually by the Czech Film and Television Academy. This year’s edition had the highest number of entries, 129.

The award ceremony took place in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum in Prague. Il Boemo was awarded Best Film, Best Director, Best Sound, Best Set Design, Best Make-up and Best Costumes.

Il Boemo is produced by Mimesis Film, Dugong Films, Sentimentalfilm, Ceská Televize with the support of Czech Film Fund, Filmová Nadace, Italian Ministry of Culture, Creative Europe MEDIA, Regione Liguria , Liguria Film Commission, Regione Sicilia, Sicilia Film Commission and Regione Veneto.
