Following its US debut last May, WarnerMedia’s HBO Max streaming platform will be available in Europe and Latin America in the second half of next year.

Warner had also announced the decision to distribute, exclusively in the United States, the films of its 2021 catalog simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max, for one month.

Although this is a temporary decision, which in any case has no intention of damaging the exhibition business, Warner would have chosen a both theatrical and digital release due to the still uncertain situation linked to the health emergency.

Ann Sarnoff, president and CEO of WarnerMedia, commented: “We know new content is the lifeblood of theatrical exhibition, but we have to balance this with the reality that most theaters in the U.S. will likely operate at reduced capacity throughout 2021”.

Warner Bros. ’17 titles on the 2021 list include The Suicide Squad, The Matrix 4, Dune, Godzilla vs. Kong and Space Jam: A New Legacy, Tom & Jerry, Mortal Kombat, Those Who Wish Me Dead, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
