The Minister of Culture, Dario Franceschini has signed a decree allocating an additional three million from the Cinema and Audiovisual Emergency Fund for the promotion and distribution of Italian cinema around the world.

“The cinema and audiovisual sector is the country’s main creative industry. With the onset of the pandemic, the government has supported the entire supply chain: from production to cinemas and distribution companies. And we continue with this measure that aims to support film and audiovisual distribution companies that promote Italian cinema abroad,” explains Minister Franceschini.

In particular, film and audiovisual companies that have realized in the two-year period 2019/2020, revenues from the international distribution of Italian films will be able to apply for a contribution, provided that the 2020 revenues were at least 10% less than those realized in the previous year and that they have participated in the two-year period 2019/2020 in at least 6 of the 17 international markets mentioned in the decree. The decree has been notified to the supervisory bodies and will be available after registration on the Ministry of Culture website.
