Science is popular. After the recent literary successes of physicist Carlo Rovelli, which reached the top of the sales charts, the dissemination of scientific knowledge comes into the public eye on TV too. Focus has launched the late-night show Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, the docuseries produced by Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane. Cosmos is a follow-up to a 1980 TV series presented by Carl Sagan on PBS, which proposed complicated and fascinating scientific issues in clear and simple language. The documentary has already been watched by more than 85 million viewers worldwide and is described as one of the most successful science-themed television programming. This is, in fact, about a thorough investigation into the depths of the universe and the mysteries of life itself, where physics and metaphysics are intertwined and reflected. Neil deGrasse Tyson, famous astrophysicist and the most important American TV popularizer, will guide us to the immensity of the cosmos with computer-generated graphics and animation footage which will make the most complex scientific concepts accessible to the general public.
