“Fare cinema” is an initiative aimed at promoting quality Italian film productions: 100 artists will bring their stories from 21 to 27 May 2018.

One hundred ambassadors for Italian cinema. There will be a hundred testimonials bringing the professionalism of the Italian industry in a hundred different cities. Conferences, roundtables, meetings with the public, and seminars on the cinema market. The stars of the event will be actors, directors, screenwriters, cinematographers, set designers, composers, costume designers, make-up artists, editors and many others. An initiative that gives voice to those who have led the Italian cinema to its worldwide fame in front, or behind, the camera.

The organization of events in the program will count on the support of the diplomatic-consular offices and Italian Cultural Institutes, aiming to reach a qualified audience of professionals in the industry. The goal is to increase the attention towards the cinema made in Italy, proposing it to the international market and creating new opportunities for foreign distributors to Italian film and television productions.

“Fare cinema” has been conceived by the MAECI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) with the cooperation of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT), ANICA (National Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Multimedia Industries) and the Istituto Luce-Cinecittà. The initiative is part of the integrated promotion plan, the “Italian Way of Life”, And it is supported by industry associations, in particular: ASC (Italian Association of Scenographers, Costume Designers, and Interior Designers), AIC (Italian Film Authors), ACMF (Film Music Composers Association), ANTEPAC (Italian Association of Makeup Artists and Hairdressers of the Cinema and audiovisual), UICD (Italian Union Casting Directors), and AMC (Film and Television Montage Association).
