Shared Shores. Euro-Mediterranean Documentary Markets Coalition

Developed by Thessaloniki Agora, DocsBarcelona Pro, MIA and Aflamuna Connection, the Euro-Mediterranean Documentary Markets Alliance is a new initiative designed to strengthen connections between the Northern and Southern shores of the Mediterranean and create more structured access to European documentary markets and professional networks. At a time when documentary production and financing are becoming increasingly complex, the alliance aims to foster Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, open new pathways for projects and talents, and broaden access to financing and co-production opportunities.
The first project selected as part of the collaboration is KARAMA by Fatym Layachi, which will be presented as the inaugural title of the initiative. By connecting markets, territories and perspectives, Shared Shores seeks to contribute to a more diverse and interconnected documentary ecosystem, while exploring how markets themselves can help reshape the geography of opportunity within the international documentary industry.
