Fireside Chat with Kim Longinotto

Blurb

A conversation with Kim Longinotto, one of the most influential and uncompromising documentary filmmakers of our time, who for over four decades has portrayed the lives of women around the world with a deeply empathetic, independent and politically engaged perspective. From rebellious performers in Japan and activists fighting FGM in Kenya to female judges in Cameroon and photographers confronting the Sicilian Mafia, Longinotto has created a body of work that breaks silences, exposes injustice and gives visibility and dignity to voices too often unheard. This intimate fireside chat will explore her distinctive filmmaking approach, the experiences and convictions that have shaped her career, her latest film Dalton’s Dream, and the book she is currently writing about her extraordinary life and work behind the camera.
