The story of three men whose lives are connected through sexuality and desire, grief and inheritance, across three different eras.
1932: Carlos, the scion of a Granada family, receives a black billiard ball, representing his categorical rejection by the city’s prestigious casino, on the grounds of his homosexuality.
1937: Sebastián is a trumpeter in the Nationalist ranks during the Spanish Civil War. He is given the duty of guarding a prisoner of war — Rafael Rodríguez Rapún, the final partner of Federico García Lorca.
2017: Alberto, estranged from his mother for being gay, receives his grandfather’s final wishes. Along with the will, there is a document that reawakens thoughts he had long kept silenced.
