After two editions held at the Baths of Diocletian, the third edition of MIA – International Audio-Visual Market – will take place at the Hotel Bernini Bristol located in Piazza Barberini, which is, together with Via Veneto, an iconic location of the Italian cinema. As a matter of fact, this area has long been the favourite stage of Italian movies.

The key players of production and distribution of Italy’s most important creative industry will participate in all the segments of the audio-visual sector, namely: cinema, fiction, documentaries, animation and video games. Rome, the capital of Italian audio-visual production, is increasingly becoming a marketplace, gaining an important role in the International arena. Italy is now back with its own market after the closure of MIFED – International Film and Multimedia Market more than a decade ago. This is happening at a critical time for the audio-visual industry: the introduction of the new Cinema Law which established new financial resources, the relaunch of the Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, the comeback in Italy of major international productions and the increasing affirmation of Italian cinema worldwide are the cornerstones of the development of a new and important season for the Italian audio-visual industry. I am convinced that this edition of MIA will be able to fully embody all those cornerstones and to mobilise the best in Italian creative talents.
